HOW TO: Create a Domain

In order to create a web site or mail accounts a Domain must be added to your account.

  1. Login to the control panel https://panel.realssl.com
  2. Click your Space name in the center pane under "Hosting Spaces"
  3. From the top menu bar, go to Hosting Space menu > Domains
  4. Click the "Add Domain" button
  5. Click Domain
    Specify the domain name in the format domain.com in lower case (do not specify www or http:// and do not use capital letters
    "Create Web Site" - Check this box if you want this domain to host a web site
    "Assign to Existing web site" - Check this box if you want this domain to be an alias / web site pointer to another already existing site
    "Assign to Existing mail domain" - Check this box if you want this domain to be alias to an existing mail domain so that email send to the new domain go to the domain being aliased to
    "Enable DNS" - If you are going to be using our name servers or using the Instant alias feature you must check this box
    "Allow customer sub-domains" - Check this box if you have sub-accounts and want those sub-accounts to be able to create sub-domains off of this Top level domain.
  6. Click "Add Domain" button

Reseller Note: If you want to add a domain for a sub-account, please follow these steps instead:
  1. Login to the control panel https://panel.realssl.com
  2. Click "All Customer"
  3. Click the customer you want to create a domain for
  4. Click the "Domains" icon from the hosting space of the client
  5. Click the "Add Domain" button
  6. Click Domain
    Specify the domain name in the format domain.com in lower case (do not specify www or http:// and do not use capital letters
    "Create Web Site" - Check this box if you want this domain to host a web site
    "Assign to Existing web site" - Check this box if you want this domain to be an alias / web site pointer to another already existing site
    "Assign to Existing mail domain" - Check this box if you want this domain to be alias to an existing mail domain so that email send to the new domain go to the domain being aliased to
    "Enable DNS" - If you are going to be using our name servers or using the Instant alias feature you must check this box
